Collaborating Artists
CLINT EDWARDS (composer) Weill Hall: Requiem Prayers for soprano, piano, and cello; Three tangos based on themes of Piazzolla CAMI Hall: Two Entertainments for violin and piano. Mr. Edwards has composed the full score for the musical “Rancho Cucamonga” and is completing the score for a jazz musical based on the early life of Tennessee Williams in New Orleans that will be premiered this fall. Mr. Edwards studied at the Boston Conservatory.
DAVID RESNICK (composer) is equally at home onstage, at the helm of a studio, or singing and drumming on his body in the street. He is one half of Love Intelligence Group with whom he performs live music and visual art at major festivals and produces video for touring pop acts. Resnick plays in the trip-folk band, Marsh Meadow, and runs a residential art gallery in his home, the Square Inch Gallery. He is also Vice President of the Live Arts Collaboration and a practicing multi-dimensional energy worker. David Resnick fuses his empathic insight with an intuitive understanding of technology to open up creative realms that connect to people on both fundamental and deeper levels.
CYBELE KAUFMAN (musician) is a vocalist and performing artist, who is thrilled to be collaborating with Ariel Grossman by using both live and recorded music as an element within this dance performance. She holds a BFA from UNC Chapel Hill and is a graduate of Circle in the Square Theatre School. She has performed throughout NYC with many classical and experimental theatre ensembles, jazz , pop, and choral groups, and has been lucky enough to perform and record with her father who is jazz trumpet player, Peter Kaufmann. She is also currently singing back-up in The Halley Devestern band.
HALLEY DE VESTERN (musician, composer) A dynamic singer and songwriter, she toured with Big Brother and the Holding Company by their invitation. She burst on the scene in 1997 with the release of her first album, SUGAR FREE, to much critical acclaim. DeVestern’s raw, bluesy vocals and unique songwriting have won her opening slots for such blues and rock greats as John Hammond, Jimmy Vaughan, Gov’t. Mule, Son Seals, Johnny Winter, Bonnie Bramlett and Antigone Rising. Halley holds a BFA in Acting from Boston University’s School Of Fine Arts. She is happy and proud to be performing with the amazing Cybele Kaufmann, who is also her much-beloved backing vocalist in The Halley DeVestern Band.
ADAM LERMAN (composer and musician) A graduate of Skidmore College, Adam composes, acts, directs and writes. He currently is working on a new original work with The Paper Industry (a theatre company) to be performed at the Ontological- Hysteric theatre, He had a busy summer performing the play he also co-wrote, directed and did the sound design for at the New York International Fringe Festival and performing Jaime Peterson’s “Building a House out of Feathers” at the Ontological this past August. Other credits TIME CRIME by Alex Goldberg (Andhow!), GRANOLA! THE MUSICAL (NYCFringe); and Stravinsky’s A SOLDIER’S TALE (w/ SITI Co.’s Will Bond and Akiko Aizawa, dir. by Barbara Gulan) (SPAC). He created the sound score for Josh Chamber’s production of “A Dream Play” at Skidmore College. This is his first time composing music for dance.
DAVID LLOYD (composer and musician) Studied classical piano for 15 years, starting at the age of 4. He taught himself to play guitar starting at the age of 10, and has also played jazz saxophone and clarinet. He became the third generation of his family to perform at Carnegie Hall when he sang there with a choir conducted by Marvin Hamlish at age 11. Now he Rocks out all day and all night as a singer and guitar player in NYC Rock band “Social Hero”. They Rock.
